MAJOR PURPOSE

This is a full-time tenure-track faculty position within the School of Psychology with an administrative assignment
of Program Director of the M.A. in Counseling Psychology (MACP) SYNC program. The MACP SYNC Program
Director provides academic leadership, strategic vision, faculty supervision, and administrative oversight for the
fully remote (synchronous) graduate counseling program which parallels the on-campus MACP program. This
position will supervise the remote program by overseeing and delivering this high quality educational program in
accordance with WSCUC accreditation standards and CA Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) licensure
regulations.

The position combines full-time graduate faculty responsibilities (teaching six courses per year) with
administrative leadership of the SYNC modality.

The pay range for this position is generally: $75,000-$85,000 annually. Individual pay is determined by a number
of factors, including relevant education and training, academic and related experience, high-demand disciplines,
location, and job-related skills.

This position is a minimum of 20% in person and is required to be available for on campus meetings, team
collaboration, and other meetings as needed. Remote work hours are agreed upon with the supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This role is responsible for program development, faculty recruitment and mentoring, student success systems,
regulatory compliance, and community engagement. The MACP-SYNC Program Director supports and oversees
the mission, goals, and objectives of the MACP-SYNC program as follows:

• Works under the leadership of our current MACP Program Director coordinating all MACP-SYNC
curriculum, operations, faculty hiring, assessment and student success operations.

• Teaches six (6) graduate-level courses per academic year (load adjustments determined by the Dean and
VPAA).

• Provides visionary leadership and ongoing program development for the SYNC modality, specifically
attuned to online/remote course delivery and best practices.

• Recruits, onboards, mentors, assigns and evaluates MACP SYNC adjunct faculty.
• Represents the School of Psychology and University in public and professional settings.
• Supports institutional strategic growth initiatives.
• Collaborates with the marketing and admissions departments, and is involved in recruiting, mentoring,

and advising students.
• Works closely with the Practicum Coordinator to ensure high quality site affiliation and oversight.
• Conducts ongoing professional development as appropriate to maintain license, and develop expertise in

university level instruction.
• Facilitates the pursuit of scholarship and research within the School of Psychology.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification/Licensure

• Earned Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology or related discipline, Master’s degree(s) in one or more related
disciplines with extensive professional experience (accepted) equivalent to 5+ years of combined
management and academic leadership experience

• Licensed LMFT, LPCC, LCSW or Psychologist in California for at least 5 years (licensure must be current
and active)

Required Knowledge/Experience
• Ten or more years of practical experience in counseling psychology or related fields
• Significant experience in graduate education and clinical training
• At least two years of college teaching experience, or comparable professional experience
• Breadth of knowledge in psychology and the CA mental health professions
• Knowledge of BBS regulations and graduate clinical education standards
• Experience supervising faculty or academic teams preferred
• Assist with intervention processes when student practicum issues arise

The employee is regularly in a typical office environment with adequate light and moderate noise levels. No
hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions. Air-conditioned buildings; tile, concrete and carpeted floors;
adjustable workstation with ergonomic keyboard is provided.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently
required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle files, computers, and phones; reach with hands and arms;

stoop, and kneel. Frequent and regular repetitive movements required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision,
distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
